Sand casting is a casting process that involves the use of chemical binders to bind molding sand. The sand is conveyed to the mold filling station where it is prepared to fill the mold. Mixers are used to mix sand with chemical binders and catalysts. As the sand leaves the mixer, the binder begins the chemical process of hardening. This mold filling method can be used for each half of the mold (upper and lower molds). Each mold half is then compacted to form a strong and dense mold.
Then use the flip to remove the mold half from the model box. After the sand has solidified, the mold can be cleaned. If necessary, place the core into the lower mold and then close the upper mold around the core to complete the mold. A series of mold trucks and conveyors move the molds to the pouring location. After pouring, allow the mold to cool before pouring.
The shakeout process involves breaking the molding sand away from the casting. The casting then enters the casting finishing area for riser removal, casting finishing and shaping. The broken molding sand fragments are further broken until the sand grains return to their granular size. The sand can now be recycled for reuse in the casting process or removed for disposal. Thermal regeneration is the most effective and thorough method of sand regeneration.
