What tools are needed in the foundry industry?

Good casting products cannot be separated from tools. Today, let's talk about casting tools.

1. Duster:

also known as paint pen, paint brush, brush, casting brush. The foundry filter manufacturer said that this tool is mainly used to sweep the parting sand on the mold, apply paint to the surface of the mold cavity and sand core, and also to moisten the molding sand on the edge of the mold for mold removal and molding.

2. Scraper:

also known as trowel, a tool with a wide range of uses in molding, including flat head, pointed head and round head. It is mainly used to repair the larger plane of the molding sand (core), dig pouring risers, cut grooves and casting ribs, trim sand blanks and soft and hard sand beds, and lift the reinforcing nails on the surface of the sand mold into the sand mold.

3. Pressing spoon:

used to trim the smaller plane of the sand mold cavity, open the pouring system, etc. It has an arc surface at one end and a flat surface at the other end, and the inclination of the spoon handle is 30 degrees. Commonly used ones include standard pressing spoon, single flush pressing spoon and double flush pressing spoon.

4. Lifting hook:

also known as sand hook, piercing hook. It is mainly used to repair the deep and narrow bottom surface and side wall of the sand mold (core), and to extract the mold sand scattered in the deep and narrow part of the mold cavity. When using, the mold should be repaired and the sand should be lifted vertically to prevent the shape and size of the repaired mold surface and mold wall from being inaccurate or the sand mold from being damaged when lifting the sand. A set of lifting hooks is divided into several types according to the width of the lifting head and the length of the lifting handle. The casting filter manufacturer recommends that the size and depth of the mold cavity be selected when repairing the mold.

5. Bamboo stem:

also known as semicircle, used to repair the inner wall and its bottom surface of the vertical arc. When using, hold the handle with your hand and press the inner wall or bottom surface of the sand mold to be repaired.

6. Autumn leaf:

Both ends of it are spoon-shaped, used to trim the curved surface or narrow concave surface of the sand mold cavity.

7. Hammer hook:

also known as round head, used to trim circular, arc-shaped grooves, flange surfaces, etc., with a wide range of uses.

8. Flange hook:

also known as flange stem, used to trim the deep and narrow arc surface of the sand mold (core), the narrow edge of the flange at both ends of the pipe casting, etc.

9. Forming trowel:

Forming trowel is a set of trowels, including right-angle photons, egg-shaped photons, internal and external angles, etc. Its working surface has various shapes, small size and convenient use. It is mainly used to trim the internal and external fillets, square corners, circles and arc surfaces of the smooth sand mold cavity.

10. Hand blower:

also known as leather tiger, a common tool for manual molding, it is used to blow away the mold sand scattered in the mold cavity. Casting filter manufacturers recommend that you should not use too much force or touch the sand mold when using it to avoid damaging the sand mold.
